Transitional Housing Tiny Home.
Designed in collaboration with: Naya Sanchez, Sarah Abdulkarim, Jan Hendrikse, Ian Bryane, Catherine Leung, Meghan Engelen, Maggie Claus, Jiadi Dai, Caresse Audrey Chia, Min Ru Loh
This project was part of a research grant from the Region of Waterloo to help solve the homeless crisis in the region. The team designed and built this tiny home as a prototype to demonstrate how cost effective and compact housing could be for people who are trying to get back on their feet. The Tiny Home has a full bathroom, kitchen and a queen bed. which allows for two people to live in this space if necessary. Under the bed their is storage for seasonal items and a book shelf above the bed for mementos. The goal for the tiny home is to allow people their own space and security when they transition from living in a tent to finding an apartment in the region.
